I spotted a bit of this font being used on a t-shirt of Neil deGrasse Tyson, and it looked like something fun to work with.  Not only will it stitch well at a one-inch size, but it will also work great if you make it huge - as you see in the pic here.  The top three letters are stitched at 3".  And there's no need at that size to split the satin stitches. Win for us.

Just upper case letters and numbers, plus a little punctuation.
