This week I needed a new font to do some work for our local 911 dispatchers. They wanted the lettering on their jackets to be in both upper and lower case, and italic, but didn’t want it to be quite as blocky as the regular fonts I had on hand. So, I created this new one for them.
I stitched out their logo using it at a height of .3″ tall, and it came out just bold enough to have the right impact. The lower case kerned well, and even though they’re fairly bold at that size, the smallest of the letters remained open and completely legible. The whole job ran like a dream, and I’d not hesitate to use this one at 1″ or so. I’m sure Casual Italic will be a great addition to my arsenal of Wilcom fonts in the future.
This is a Wilcom keyboard font for use by those running version 8 and above.
