Dress up your athletic font a bit, using a bean (triple run) stitch for a border. Not only does it give you some pizzazz, but it also makes the letters themselves qualify as a larger font size, without having those satin stitches too long. With that in mind, I digitized it to run well at 1½", and that's the size I ran it to produce the image. You could probably pull it down to around 1", but it would be iffy going larger than the original 1½", because of those satin lengths. It's up to you.
Just upper case letters and numbers. That's all we needed.
